Chemical substances management Engineer


Functie

Research and Development (R&D) in Europe is responsible for the planning, development and production of attractive and superior quality cars matching European market requirements. Chemical Management team is part of Material Engineering Division at Toyota Motor Europe. The team is responsibile for :
Chemical substance data management to comply with regulations such as REACh (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals), ELV (End of Life vehicle) and other regional regulations. It is also responsible to ensure suppliers compliance of chemical substance regulation and Toyota policies. Furthermore, the team has a leading role within R&D to calculate new models LCA (Life cycle assessment).


Your responsibilities:

  • Proceed IMDS and MSDS data collection, assessment and judgment from suppliers.
  • Execute action plan to eliminate the regulated chemical substance in materials and parts.
  • Proceed possible regulated substance information gathering and impact analysis in EU.
  • Closely follow the substances in the different steps of the process leading to authorization and follow up the elimination of banned substances via surveys.

Jouw profiel

Your profile:
  • You are fluent in English (Toyota Motor Europe business language).
  • You have a Master degree preferably in the field of Material Science or Chemical, Engineering.
  • Relevant experience in the automotive industry and/or Chemical substance data management.
  • Excellent analytical skill as well as problem finding, analysing and solving skills.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills with supplier to convey Toyota requests.
  • Knowledge of IMDS (International Material Data system) is an asset.
  • You have good knowledge for chemical substance regulation ( REACh, EU-ELV direction, CLP, etc)
  • Experience in LCA modelling and familiarity with LCA databases, standards & guidelines is a MUST.
  • Knowledge about one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Javascript, Java) is an asset.
  • Team-worker with flexible mind.
  • Well-organised, detailed and punctual personality.
  • Open-minded and always searching the ways to improve him/herself.
  • You have a valid work permit (non-student)

  • Het verloop en de vooruitgang van wetenschappelijke experimenten en observaties leiden en controleren
  • Discipline: Chemie en materiaalkunde

Full time

Hybrid : Toyota Motor Europe Technical Centre and possibility for home office. For this position, onsite presence is required only 1 or 2 days per month.
